Just testing out postbot, posting from my g1

Tracklisting behind the break
Not so hot. I need to focus more on these. Fast food for me is a comfort, and this last week has been stressful. I haven’t been playing as many games, been doing ok with catching up with shows/movies. But I haven’t been able to study my programming much, hopefully this coming week I can.
I also wanted to make sure I throw in a congrats to Chad and Alex on their engagement, woot!
I am going to try to record a 20-30 minute mix every week, maybe that will get me more motivated and out and about. I bought a bunch of records over the last week, we will see what happens.
I need to focus on making my ubuntu fork, this can happen this coming week too, should be fun.
March will be a busy month for us, Kate’s bday has us scheduled a lot throughout the month, dinners, parties, and roller skating. I am putting away for a new laptop for her, so near the end of the month I will purchase one for her, probably a netbook, something she has been eyeing for a while.
Also, we are trying to figure out what is the plan for vacations this year. Puerto Rico in June, Tennesse (to pick up my brother) in July, Oibwe/Bemedji Rally in August, PAX (Seattle) in September, Kentucky for a wedding in October, and Virgina in December for the holidays. It seems so far away now, but it will be here soon.
Anyways, back to the real world, hopefully will update again soon.

Hey everyone, I made a new mix. Short post here, because I am sleepy. Grab, and enjoy!

Tracklisting behind the break
And hopefully new promises. I need to update this more often. As one of my goals, I plan on doing this at least once a week. Hopefully I can keep that up.
I decided to try to write out my resolutions this year to see if I could keep up with them. I’ll start out here with my non-entertainment goals, and move onto those after.
1) Lose Weight. Yes I know, everyone has this goal. However, Kate and I are planning to travel more this summer, and I don’t want to be overweight on the beach and whatnot. I am going to start working out over lunch, try for every day, if not, every other day.
2) Reduce Debt. Kate and I have compiled a quick list of our major debts, and we are going to snowball attack them here soon. Hopefully we can pull this off and reduce our major debts quickly, it shouldn’t be too hard since I have been using things like Goozex for games, Netflix for Blu-Ray titles and whatnot.
3) No more Fast Food. Today I am going to go to Wendys and get my last fast food for…an undetermined length of time. I don’t plan on eating fast food on a regular basis, maybe on road trips/airports/etc, but not as an every few day thing.
4) No more Soda. Except in mixed drinks. I figure this could help me out in many ways, I am not addicted to soda or anything, but it doesn’t hurt to cut it out.
5) Do something useful with programming. After lunch today, I plan on sticking up the whiteboard I picked up and get cracking back on perl and C#. I need to do something useful with programming, or even Linux. Maybe my POS project will come back again, I need to start working on that.
6) Take at least one day trip once a month. This is a goal more for Kate and I, but we need to go somewhere once a month. It’s kinda hard in the winter, and especially with the dogs, but anywhere we could go that people have ideas for would be great.
7) Finish off a number of the movies/games I own that I haven’t watched/played. The list of things we own but haven’t watched or played is growing and growing. With reducing out debt, Netflix has helped out, but we need to use it more than before. A list of these things follows.
Get Lucas (and maybe Dart) litterbox trained. This would help out tremendously.
9) Learn to take decent pictures, and do so. I got a good book for xmas, so hopefully this will help out. Also, I need to upload my pictures soon after I take them. I still have pics from thxgiving weekend I need to upload. Bah.
10) Take at least 1 major vacation this year. We have been talking for years about going to Puerto Rico, I think this year we might do it. I’d also like to go to Banff National Park, and then there is always talk of Europe, East Asia, or Africa. I think the overseas ones will have to wait until next year when we are done with a lot of our debt.
11) Get back into music. Whether I start producing more or djing or something, I feel the need to get more involved again
So that wraps it up, follow the cut below for my list of movies and games, and whatnot. And hopefully I can pull through most of this list!
Wow, this is about all I can say. This game is tons of fun, it was a lot more fun than was expected. This is going to make it hard for me to finish my other games (GTA4, LBP, Fallout 3). Co-op Multiplayer is a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Expert mode gets insanely difficult with smokers/hunters coming out of nowhere, and same with tanks, and running into random witches. The pace is frenetic, as you are running around constantly trying to keep your group alive. Microphone chat is almost always required, esp on expert, since you cannot stop moving to type.
The only downside I ran into so far was server set up. When you click Start game, it randomly picks a server for you. Sometimes that server happens to be password protected. You have no choice but to try to guess a password, and if you fail, your only way out is to ctrlaltdelete restart game, or alt-tab out and restart it. At this point, there is no reason to password protect your server, at least as far as I can tell.
Eitherway, I look forward to spending more time playing through this, it is a hell of a lot of fun.
dev out.
I should add, I need to update my flickr page soon. Look for updates to this in the next few days here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/deveric/
I ran into a few friends I haven’t seen since high school, Bjorn, Dustin, and Paul. I hope to hang out with them soon again, got contact info, so can’t let that slip.
I upgraded my VMWare server to 2, and I love it. The beta was teh suck, but now it’s working insanely great.
Kate and I loved to T-Mobile, and got the G1. It’s great, lots of fun features, and really slick. Hopefully I can get time to jailbreak it and use it more than I do now.
The election came, and went. Obama wins, nuff said. Kate has done a ton of work with the campaign, and met a lot of new people. I wish I would have done more, but alas, I did not. Next time around, though, I need to.
Franken and Coleman is still undecided, but things are not looking good for Franken, hopefully it will turn around. Recount is due to start anytime now I guess.
Fallout 3 is fun, I need to dedicate more time to saving the wastelands. I preordered Left 4 Dead, the demo drops tomorrow, so this should be interesting. Dead Space was good, I might go through it again. I need to put more time into Rock Band 2, and Little Big Planet, as well as some extra time in TF2, since that has been lacking.
I also need to dedicate more time to linux work. I need to figure out how to start a new Ubuntu Project, and continue my endeavors into Perl and C++/C#. I am now running Server 2008 on my desktop, with 4gb of ram, and I will probably up this to 8 by the time my lan party rolls around at the end of the month.
I think in the next few weeks I am going to try start a blog about why this condo association sucks. Just today, I was walking the dogs around outside, and near the end of the walk, I saw a sign that said “GRASS TREATED, KEEP PETS AND CHILDREN OFF”. There was only one sign, and it was not in an convient location for anyone to find. I think I could almost find at least one thing to complain about every day. Ugh.
Anyways, dev out.
So tomorrow I will be ripping up the carpet in the office and bedroom and replacing it with FLOR carpeting, this should be fun. Hopefully not too painful.
In other news, I just finished interviewing for a Sr. Sys Admin position at work, hopefully things will pan out. I should be hearing early next week, so wish me luck!
I ordered a bunch of records in the last few weeks, so hopefully over this weekend if I find time (hah) I will be recording a new mix.
Stay tuned…
So I canceled my WAR pre-order, not worth it at this point. I’m trying to be more productive, teaching myself perl and C++, learning more sharepoint crap, and doing some stuff with music.
I need to finish Assassins Creed, so I can sell it. I finished up Rachet and Clank, and there really isn’t any room to do much else in the game, so I’ll probably sell that soon as well. Force Unleashed comes out tomorrow, so I’ll probably pick that up. I pre-ordered little big planet for ps3, that should be fun. Part of me wants to get Disgaea 3, but I may hold off. I’ve been itching for a good RPG for ps3, sounds like Tales of Vesperia will be good, so I may just wait until next month.
School has been going good, I need to spend an hour or two tonight finishing up my homework. We are going to replace the flooring with Cork, which will be nice.
Guess thats about it for now. Whee
